Wildlife Results!

Wow, I feel like I've neglected blogging! It's been so hard to find any time to sit and write anything... I've got lots of things I want to talk about but just no time to go and do them!

Anyway, it's Tuesday, which means the results are out for last weeks photo challenge, and a new one has been set! Last weeks theme was 'Wildlife', one of my favourite photography subjects, although I knew deep down I was going to be hard pushed to submit an entry.

By Saturday it didn't look like I was going to have chance to get anywhere to take any pictures. However, I managed to find a small window of time on Sunday morning and decided to try and get some shots of birds. About 15 meters away from my girlfriends bedroom window is a Cherry Tree, right next to that was some shrubbery that had lots of birds flying in and out, it almost looked as if they were nesting in there. Unfortunately I couldn't get them in shot, but decided that if I was patient enough I may get some nice pictures of them on the Cherry Tree... It turns out I get bored quickly...

After about an hour and a half the first, and only, bird to land in the tree appeared. It was a nice characterful little blue tit! I managed to snap a couple of photos before it flew away. Unfortunately I didn't have all of my equipment with me so I couldn't get as close as I wanted. However, after some post processing I submitted the following photo.

Wildlife Entry

It's quite noisy, but I actually kinda like it... It looks almost as if it has been sketched to some degree. There were some awesome entries this week, check them out here.

The new challenge is called 'Surprise us', now if you've read my previous blogs you'll know that the thing I like most about the photo challenge is that it gives us a subject, which tends to be where I struggle... so this one should be interesting as they've effectively given us free rein! Watch this space!
