My new laptop

So, what seems like an eternity ago I ordered my self a new laptop from Dell. I've wanted a new laptop for ages but just haven't really bothered to buy one...

I decided that I wanted something quite powerful for photo editing that could also handle modern games. Therefore, I decided on a Dell XPS 17 (L702x). I upgraded the RAM from 4GB to 16GB, and left most of the other things standard.

I'm not going to babble on about it but I really am quite impressed, I'd seen mixed reviews but I'm really happy with it. For a latop the sound, in my opinion, is amazing! It has a built in JBL Subwoofer in its base so it beats any other laptop I've listened to hands down. I don't know how it compares to the Beats Audio laptops though. I'd kind of dismissed this as a gimmick so I was pleasantly surprised.

Something else I'd dismissed as a gimmick was the Nvidia 3D Vision, but after trying it, WOW! I was amazed at how good it was!! However, you have to plug the glasses in to a USB port which is a bit weird but oh well. I also didn't realise that it had the ability to make almost any game 3D, so I installed Deus Ex: Human Revolution... In 3D this game is absolutely amazing!! It just adds to the whole Sci-Fi theme of the game and works really well. I think it helps that this game has 3D settings built in to it.
I also tried Team Fortress 2 in 3D, this game has not been designed to accomodate 3D but still worked really well.

Anyway, now I'm more mobile I should be able to blog a little more frequently as when I'm at my partners I'll have access to a PC at all times.
